Porn studios buying content from porn stars during the pandemic

No US based gay porn sites are filming right now due to the effects of the pandemic. But, they are finding ways to get content on their sites. One of them is asking porn stars to shoot scenes on their behalf for a fee.

Next Door Studios has done this with their solos of Dakota Payne & Elliot Finn.

And, their pair-up with real life roommates – Michael Del Ray with Dante Colle and Dakota Payne with Devin Franco.

  1. I agree with Leo Forte on this one. Studios need content otherwise members will cancel subscriptions or demand lower rates. However, I don’t see why performers wouldn’t simply post the material on fan pages to maintain income from there. Though it may be a numbers thing where they take a one off payment while advertising similar material on their platform(s). No harm in a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Performers making scenes good enough for an established subscription site may cause several to run with the idea. The quarantine affords guys time to increase quality of their own productions. I’ve seen quality video work done with a DSLR/Mirrorless, a video monitor, boom mic, and softboxes for indoor shots. Watch YT videos on production, get a free editor, and they’re mostly there.
Barring the wood issues, the Dante Colle/Michael DelRay scene was pretty good. Same with the Dakota Payne solo where a camera person and direction took away the basic OnlyFans feel. These duos or anyone else won’t give studios a run for their money but it can draw subscribers wanting that mix of Blair-Witch and objectively shot scenes.

  2. I don’t understand the outcry. Dante Colle and Michael del ray are best friends off camera they are really close. And yes the sex video with Dante and Michael pretty good. It actually is nice to see Dante and Michael fuck outside a studio. They know each other bodies so well. It was an amazing scene. Ditto for Dakota and Devin they live together so I think these kinds of porn videos are fine. Devin and Dakota slept with each other a lot. I am guessing they are friends with benefits. These two videos are different because the models are close in real life. I love these porn videos they feel more real and not as forced. Dante and Michael I kind of wonder if they are more than just friends? They seem to really care for each other have a lot in common. Both from Midwest, both same age.

  3. I suppose it’s better than nothing, but fan-site videos tend to be recorded on phones by the models themselves or from an amateur cameraman. Consequently, they look grainy, washed out, shaky and generally have noticeably worse production quality than professional porn shoots. That said, the porn definitely tends to be more passionate and intimate than professional shoots.

  4. If they are isolated together do not see the harm.
However one has to remember the fan sites are on a percentage paid basis. So for the porn star to receive the amount they are offering their fan base would have to be enormous.
If the quality is good and not looking to amateurish why not.

  5. BlackBoyAddictionz is having its models do solo scenes (at home) in a competition for a cash prize. They’ve released four so far, including one with some performers who we haven’t seen in years. http://blog.blackboyaddictionz.com/
They’re also doing some compilations with deleted scenes commentaries.

  6. It’s a funny thing because when I watched the Dante Colle/Michael DelRay scene I assumed that the idea of them taping themselves was fake. Unlike an self-made tape, this video had good lighting, multiple camera angles and camera movement. When I watch videos from Guys in Sweatpants or Austin Wolf, it always seems as if they set up a camera (or even an iphone) in the corner of the room and started filming, regardless of position or framing. So, if this is what studios are able achieve versus people who make their videos then I can understand the difference in value. Of course, this is not to say that performers shouldn’t be compensated fairly. But, there is a demonstrable difference in the quality of the product.

  7. The problem is it’s not always healthy. Take Dante Colle. He’s filmed OnlyFans content with several different people over the past two weeks. None of them are people he’s living with under lockdown.
He’s blatantly ignoring the industry “do not film” guidelines as well as California’s stay-at-home rules.

  8. Dante doesn’t care about anyone or anything..apart from himself, so that’s no surprise.

  9. It primarily depends on how the scenes are shot. The things that bother me about studio scenes are that many are overly produced and directed, with excessive camera angles and camera movement, and overly edited with too many cuts, jumps and close-ups. Too many shots of cocks going in and out of assholes are annoying since we all already know that that looks like and often its the most boring part of the scene. So if a homemade scene it reasonably shot with only one or two cameras and a minimum of edits, I consider it hotter and a great improvement over studio crap. (And the studios probably wouldn’t want to know that I readily re-edit their masterworks to focus on the parts I like the most, which is something I recommend to everyone since its so simple).
