Being HIV positive isn’t the end of life, but why place yourself in the position to acquire it and then take the meds needed to deal with it?

It’s amazing how far we’ve come with treatments for HIV as well as preventative measures such as PrEP. John Thomas is not only a sexy mega-hunk but also extremely lucky. We’re lucky also to be able to see his porn career flourish. But I don’t begrudge performers who are reluctant to film with HIV+ guys who might be strangers with whom they’ve had no chance to develop a degree of trust.

I totally agree, I think that with the advent of HIV PreP; for the sake of seeming enlightened, people are willing to forget that it is a communicable disease that could leave you vulnerable to certain diseases in the future. We shouldn’t shame people for having HIV but we shouldn’t shame people who are trying to avoid getting it.

While there is PrEP, safe sex, etc. I don’t think it is bad for people to choose who they want to have sex with based on status. While u=u might be acceptable for some, it may not be for others. Therefore, folks should film with those feel comfortable, no judgement who you choose, just be respectful.

and if people straight guys want to film in the adult/gay industry they shouldn’t be attacked either. Or if someone wants to identify as straight – we should give them that respect.

First, I think John is very sexy & seeing I’m neg and on PrEP, I would consider having sex with him, if given the opportunity! However, that is a very personal choice. I respect if others don’t want to take the risk.
I applaud John for being open about his status. I wish more performers would be open. That could help breakdown stereotypes or stigmas. That being said, the ultimate decision is an individual’s right to choose and should be respected.
Just don’t be shady or cruel to others just because of their status… it could happen to any of us, especially those that have been around since this tragic disease started.

I Tend to think of it as their loss…….”
Hey, I also don’t usually ask my model friends to try and hit me in the eye with a sharp dart BUT, I am sure that’s my loss too…
Same goes for swimming in a pool filled with sharks. Wrapping my body with raw meat and jumping in a lions den. Walking blindfolded through a house that’s on fire. Or jumping from a plane and hoping a friend gives me a parachute on the way down either……..

However he wants to rationalize it, that’s okay. It might be a slim chance of catching HIV, but sex is not a handshake. And performers who have successfully avoided being infected with HIV certainly aren’t interested in the advice and smug comments about the topic from someone with HIV.

Okay, so we are supposed to trust that a performer who contracted HIV, despite all of the warnings, is now following his medication plan to the letter. This actually makes my blood boil that he is doing this. I put this on the same level as Covid deniers are resentful that someone wears a mask or gets a vaccine. It is the performer’s RIGHT to look after his own health in any way they feel comfortable with. On another score, when a performer like this one, constantly crows about having HIV and putting other people down like they are bigots, that is just about all I can think of when I watch one of their scenes. It is extremely hard to put that out of your mind.
