You’ve had several post about the obvious competition between the Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher sites. But one big difference between the two sites became even more apparent this week. In my opinion the Sean Cody site has always had an advantage in terms of the technical aspects of the clips and pics the two sites post. The lighting in Sean Cody‘s clips and pics is consistently good. At Corbin Fisher its very inconsistent and often much too dark. The camera work in the videos at Sean Cody is consistently good and consistently better than the sometimes amateur work at Corbin Fisher. And for their still photographs Corbin Fisher‘s airbrushing is usually so overdone that the models are almost not recognizable. Sean Cody obviously does some airbrushing too, but its much more subtle.
Over the past month this technical quality difference between the two sites became even more pronounced. Until about a month ago both sites offered downloadable clips of similar quality–typically 200-300 megabytes. But several weeks ago Sean Cody upped its game dramatically and has been posting much higher quality clips, including true high definition clips. The Corbin Fisher site offers nothing like this, at least not yet. Their pay site CF Select offers high definition clips if you pay extra but apparently CF doesn’t think its membership site merits such high quality clips. The other recent development involves still photos of the sites’ video clips. Both sites had been offering screen-captures from their clips and higher quality still photos. Again about three weeks ago, Sean Cody doubled the number of high quality stills they were posting for each update. I’m kind of old-fashioned and I like the still photos, so this was a nice new member’s benefit for me. But this week Corbin Fisher went in the opposite direction. All three of this week’s CF updates included no still photos. Unclear whether this change is permanent but if it is, the site is eliminating content for its members that they have offered from the very beginning of the site.
So CF cuts back on content and so far is not offering its members high definition clips, while SC expands its still photo content and now offers much higher quality clips than the CF site. Clear advantage for the Sean Cody site.
